Because only slowly and consciously can we enjoy food and life, take care of ourselves, as well as the planet.

Eco gastronomic Slow Food movement was founded in Italy in 1986 and now gathers around 150 countries and fosters a distinctive philosophy of slow enjoyment of food and preserving the tradition in nutrition and nurturing environmental awareness, which includes exceptional care about the way we produce food.

The movement was created in response to Fast Food, revolt against the rapid and unhealthy consumption of food and fast life of the modern world, the disappearance of the interest of people for the food they eat and the disappearance of local traditions in food.

  • We promote food that is ...

    TASTY - satisfies the senses with its freshness and flavor, and is part of the local culture. PURE - it is produced and consumed in environmental friendly way, because we take care of animal benefit and human health. FAIR - available to the consumer and reasonably paid to the producer.

  • Preserve biodiversity

    The basic idea is to preserve biodiversity. If we continue like this, in ten years we will all drink the same five or six wines (Chardonnay, Cabernet, Merlot) and eat a dozen of the same dishes. Therefore we should cherish the local, authentic, traditional cuisine.

  • Eat locally

    In addition to the fact that in this manner we valorise culture and historical heritage of local food, small producers have an opportunity to sell their products. In the current circumstances they are threatened by the multinational and fast food shops.
